Last Thursday evening FAME hosted one of its most iconic events on the calendar—our Career’s panel! This year, President Zeta and Careers Director Daniela worked incredibly hard to set up an insightful and exciting discussion on the intersection between law and creativity in the workplace, surmised by the wonderful, Elle Woods-inspired theme, 'Legally Creative'.
We welcomed a group of five incredibly diverse and knowledgeable individuals as our panellists: Yasmine Naghavi, principal and founder of firm Artis Causa, Tugce Ayata, solicitor at Sanicki Lawyers, content creator and owner of fashion rental company, ‘Hire My Attire’, Guy Hall, entertainment lawyer for Marshalls + Dent + Willmouth, Isabella Parolin, Commercial Lawyer for the Cotton On Group and creator of the Facebook Community ‘Legal Besties’, and lastly Priya McPherson, recent law graduate, owner of Melbourne fashion brand ‘Sage Avenue’ and Content Creator.
The panellists first answered a series of questions from Zeta and Daniela, before the audience had time to ask some of their own burning questions. The evening touched on everything from their own career trajectories to first-hand anecdotes from the industry to their thoughts on the impact of generative AI in both creative and legal sectors. It was especially interesting and insightful to hear about how creative disciplines and the law interact, with special insights from Yasmin, Guy and Tugce into the music and film, and Tugce, Yasmin, Isabella and Priya into design, fashion and business.
FAME would like to thank our wonderful panellists and friends of FAME who attended. This event is one of the biggest of the year and it was great to see a full house of attendees. It was such a wonderful evening that left us inspired and excited for our own future careers and developments in the industry.
